MARY KENNEDY EASTHAM (San Jose, CA) M.A., MFA (Almost an MBA!) is the author of The Shadow of a Dog I Can't Forget - Poems & Prose now in its 5th Printing. A 2011 Wild Card winner in the Hollywood Book Festival, the book was also a 2010 Celebrity Achievement winner, Runner-Up for Best Poetry Book in the USA Book News Best Books contest and a winner in the Guerilla Marketing Los Angeles Book Contest. Her award-winning poetry and short stories have won her over $20,000 in Artist Grants; they include the Chekhov Award, The Paris Writer's Workshop Award,The Allen Ginsberg Award, two Grants from the Arts Council, Silicon Valley, and a $5,000 Dorothy Sargent Rosenburg Foundation Award. She has been a judge for the Shine Journal and the EPIC E-Book Competition. From July through October she conducts essay-writing seminars for college-bound high schoolers. When she isn't busy finishing her novella The Girl With Sand in Her Hair, she raises champion Golden Retrievers in the San Francisco Bay Area, training them in agility and for mini-XGame fun!
