About Judge/Sponsor
Jamie Cat Callan is the author of Ooh La La!, Bonjour, Happiness! and the bestselling French Women Don't Sleep Alone which has been translated into twenty-seven different languages. Jamie’s has been featured in Newsweek, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmo, Vanity Fair, Woman’s World, The Huffington Post, and The New York Times Sunday Styles Modern Love column, where she tells the story of how she met her husband.
Jamie has received many awards for her writing, most recently a fellowship from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts to write in the village of Auvillar, France and a Massachusetts Council on the Arts Grant in fiction. Jamie taught creative writing for many years and is the creator of The Writers Toolbox (Chronicle Books).
She grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, wrote beauty and fashion copy for the cosmetic company, Estee Lauder and went on to receive an MFA in screenwriting from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). She then worked in script development at Paramount Pictures for the actress, Meg Ryan.
